What is LTS?
The Most Comfortable Pipette that Prevents Fatigue to Ensure You Maintain Accuracy and Precision All Day Long
Rainin LTS Tips ;dramatically reduce high tip ejection forces, decreasing or eliminating laboratory RSI risk.
The cylindrical shaft & tip design reduces tip ejection forces
Lower forces mean freedom from tired hands.
Tips seal reliably and consistently without excessive force.
LTS Reduces Tip Ejection Forces by 85%.
In traditional conical tip/shaft designs, tip ejection forces can be as high as 10kg, with an average of 4kg.

  Wood Flooring - The Practical & Convenient Flooring Option
Posté par : DFDVX189 - 15-11-2022, - Forum : Présentez-vous... - Réponses (1)

Wood Flooring - The Practical & Convenient Flooring Option
If you’re constantly looking for an excuse not to do the hoovering, or simply don’t have the time to fit it in around a busy work/family life, then Hardwood Flooring By Wood Species ;provides a time and effort-saving solution. Unlike carpet, wood flooring can be swept with a broom, removing crumbs and dirt quickly, easily, and not to mention more quietly – you’ll still be able to hear the TV! ;

Worry less about stains and dirty marks
Help to make floor stains a thing of the past by opting for a wooden floor with a high-quality finish. We supply pre-finished boards that come pre-treated with oils that will help prevent any spills and stains from impregnating the timber. You also have the choice of applying Treatex Hardwax Oil which protects your floor to an even greater extent. If spillages, muddy footprints or markings occur, simply wipe the boards clean with no nasty cleaning chemicals involved. Treatex is an easy-to-maintain water-resistant treatment that is used to protect and enhance wood flooring and other interior wooden joineries, such as stairs and furniture. Treatex is made from a combination of natural sustainable materials including carnauba wax, sunflower oil, linseed oil, beeswax, and candelilla wax. ;

Reduce your energy bills
Earlier this month, the EU announced that shops will be banned from selling hoovers with a power consumption of over 1600W, as of September 2014. This sudden ban has really shocked many consumers and made them realize just how much energy their hoover is using. So if you’re looking for ways to become more eco-friendly as a household, as well as save money on your electricity bills, choose wood flooring over carpet; the only energy that a brush uses is your own!

Sand away scratches and unwanted marks
Owing to the fact that all of our boards have real wood wear layers of 3mm - 6mm, they are able to be sanded back multiple times in order to remove dents and scratches for re-finishing. In order to help prevent scratches from occurring in the first place, as well as make your floor easier to maintain in general, we again recommend using Treatex Hardwax Oil. This optional finish is an easy-to-apply wood treatment that will improve the durability of the wood and work to protect your flooring.

EUROPEAN OAK ENGINEERED WOOD FLOORING
For many different reasons, homeowners are choosing to use European oak wood flooring ;as an alternative to the traditional hardwood floors. ; European oak engineered wood uses less of the actual hardwood making it cost-effective and eco-friendly. ; It is also durable, and easy to install. ; Engineered hardwood can be installed over concrete with a simple glued-down floor installation and is able to withstand the heaviest and most abusive foot traffic making it a cheaper product in the long run.
TYPES OF EUROPEAN OAK
European Oak is extremely popular among homeowners and interior designers due to its uniqueness and blend. Here are some of your choices:
; ; American White Oak: it has 3 traditional cuts and the most popular would be the traditional cathedral grain pattern referred to as "flat cut"
; ; Rift Cut: this type of oak shows a more straight grain pattern
; ; Quarter Sawn: stands out for its "flake" appearance in the grain
ENGINEERED WOOD FOR YOUR HOME
One of the most important choices you can make for your home is flooring. ; Flooring is one the first things a guest sees as they step into your home and sets the tone for a room. ; Flooring is also where we play with our children as well as walk barefoot when first waking up in the morning. ; It is important that the flooring of your home is warm and bright, as well as easy to clean. ; For many the choice of material is hardwood. Hardwood comes in many colors to fit all sorts of rooms. ; It is also easy to clean and maintain. ; But it is not without its drawbacks. Many are concerned with the environmental footprint caused by using traditional hardwoods as well as costly installation and replacement fees should it be damaged.

The Benefits Of Walnut Wood Flooring
Why Use Walnut Wood Flooring?
When you are planning your new floor you have many decisions to make, but let’s assume you have already made the choice of laying engineered hardwood flooring for a timeless, long-lasting, beautiful effect, then the next decision is what type of hardwood to use. The majority will probably select oak without too much debate, but a few will consider the rarer and more exotic sultry beauty of modern walnut wood flooring. Black American walnut is rather less common than oak, although don’t worry the wood is sourced sustainably, but this scarcity makes it rather more of an investment than oak and, as such, you will want to have good reason to select it. So let’s look at some of the benefits of Black Walnut Wood Flooring.

Why Use Walnut wood flooring, What Makes It Special
The most obvious, and indeed visible, benefit of modern engineered walnut wood flooring is its beautiful appearance. Walnut has a very varied grain both in terms of pattern.
The rich tones of walnut make it ideal for a larger room where you desire a hint of opulence from the ground up, for example, a living room or master bedroom. Don’t forget that engineered wood flooring can be laid over underfloor heating, so you can have the benefit of luxury wood flooring and still enjoy warmth underfoot on cold winter mornings.

Due to its construction, our Supreme 21mm thick engineered walnut wood flooring is very stable and reliable. The board has a 10-ply hardwood under-core topped off with a 6mm solid, satin lacquered, walnut wear layer, giving you a 21mm total thickness. Although it’s never recommended that any wood flooring is laid in a damp environment this high spec construction has proved itself to be very resilient to moisture for our customers in the past.

Teak Wood Flooring (Pros and Cons & Popular Styles)
Teak as a building material has been in use as early as the 7th century. Shipwrights favored the wood for its moisture resistance and its proclivity to keep decay and insects at bay. Some old naval ships from the last couple of centuries still float today due to their teak composition
For its hardy properties, teak wood flooring ;can be used for outdoor decks and terraces. Some outdoor furniture is made from teak as well. As a flooring material, it has a color that ranges from a pale yellowish hue to a richer, dark beige hue. Aged teak hardwood flooring tends to get to an even yellowish brown with dark streaks here and there. When it comes to the grain, the texture is fairly random, with some being straight and others not so.
In using teak hardwood flooring, be mindful of its limitations. Never utilize teak hardwood flooring, or any wood flooring for that matter, in rooms with standing water, excessive humidity, or plenty of moisture. For that reason, teak hardwood flooring should never be used on levels below the natural grade line. Moisture tends to seep in through the soil underground and could cause the teak to decay prematurely. Also, UV radiation, from the sun, for example, causes teak hardwood to get discoloration. As such, be sure to use blinds when the daylight outside is too harsh.
Maintaining teak hardwood is relatively simple. Regular mopping and vacuuming should be sufficient enough for starters. Try to also use warm water weekly or every other week to keep the floors relatively clean. As with any wood flooring, teak hardwood will require occasional waxing for it to keep its sheen. Be sure to take out any dirt or dust from the surface of the flooring before applying the coats of oil.
In general, teak wood is considered a sustainable, eco-friendly building material. This can help with the overall “greenness” of a building and can have a significantly smaller carbon footprint than other flooring materials. ;

Russian Oak Flooring Reviews, Price 2022
At present, European Oak is the most common surface material in the Chinese hardwood flooring market. Due to logging restrictions, Russian oak raw materials are in short supply.
However, the natural characteristics of Russian oak are very different from those of European oak. Clean grade surface, fewer knots, uniform color variation, and more beautiful texture, and grains, make Russian oak irreplaceable in the flooring market. At the same time, consumers in some areas have a traditional buying tendency towards high-grade Russian oak.
Russian Oak Wood Flooring has the following features:
1. Cleaner and clearer color and grain.
2. Sapwood for lower grade and obvious color differences
3. Easier to get higher grades without knots.
4. Russian Oak normally comes from a “Frame saw” on the Kiln dried timber material.

  Graphite Material
Posté par : DFDVX189 - 15-11-2022, - Forum : Présentez-vous... - Pas de réponse

Graphite Material
Some machinable graphite parts.
Graphite is a natural mineral derivative of carbon. It is a native element, often the result of sedimentary carbon compounds, but also occurring in certain rocks containing organic carbon, in magma, or as the result of the reduction of sedimentary carbon through the reduction of carbonates.
Graphite has a non-compact layered structure made up of hexagonally-shaped structures. These layers are known as graphene have an inter-layer distance of approximately 0.336 nm.
In each layer, the carbon atoms are strongly bonded together by molecular links whereas the layers are not strongly bonded together, which explains the material’s relative lack of hardness.

Physical properties
Graphite is the stable form of carbon at ordinary temperatures and pressures. This material has a black, shiny, submetallic appearance. Its hardness is low, between 1 and 2 on the Mohs scale. Due to its layered structures, all of its physical properties are anisotropic. Indeed, its electrical conductivity varies greatly if measured between the layers or perpendicularly.

Applications
Graphite Material has many industrial applications in various natural or synthetic forms :
Mechanical Engineering: friction parts, seals, lubricants
Electrical manufacturing: brush motors
Reducers, particularly in the steel industry (blast coke furnaces)
Electrodes for the steel industry (electrical steel)
Moderators in nuclear reactors
Adsorbents in activated charcoal filter
Graphite machining

Coatings and surface treatments
In order to modify the specific characteristics of graphite, different coatings and treatments can be applied. We propose 5 types of coating and graphite impregnations for fine-grain isostatic graphite.

List of Uses of Graphite
Graphite Products ;have been used since ancient times. It has a wide range of applications in the modern world too. Let’s look at some common uses of graphite below.

Writing Materials
The word graphite is from the Greek language which translates as ‘to write’. So the most common use of graphite is in making the lead in pencils. This lead is a mixture of clay and graphite which is in an amorphous form.

Lubricants / Repellents
Graphite is one of the main ingredients in lubricants like grease, etc. This mineral reacts with atmospheric water vapor and creates a thin film or layer over the surface applied and thus reducing friction. Graphite is also used in car brakes and clutches.
The powdered form of lump graphite is also used in paints. Why? Well, graphite by nature is water-repellent. So it offers a protective coating on wood and other surfaces.

Refractories
Due to its high tolerance to heat and unchangeability, Graphite is a widely used refractory material. It finds its use in the manufacturing industry and it helps in the production of glass and steel as well as the processing of iron.

Nuclear Reactors
Graphite can absorb fast-moving neutrons. As a result, it is used in reactors to stabilize nuclear reactions.

Electrical Industry
Crystalline flake graphite is used in the manufacturing of carbon electrodes, brushes, and plates needed in dry cell batteries and the electrical industry. Interestingly, natural graphite is also processed into synthetic graphite. This type of graphite is useful in lithium-ion batteries.

Graphene Sheets
Graphite can be used to make graphene sheets. These sheets are said to be 100 times stronger and 10 times lighter than steel. This derivative of graphite is further used in making lightweight and strong sports equipment. Many are considering future applications in the field of the medical and aerospace industries.

Graphite Machined Products
Graphite machining is a popular process, used to aid in many applications and create many products. It is so popular because of the many virtues of graphite itself. These many virtues include strength, hardness, the capabilities of dry lubrication and self-lubrication, and high corrosion resistance. In addition, graphite can be reused many times.
Graphite machining is a popular industry such in metallurgy, chemical, heating, and cooling, food, metalworking, recycling, pharmaceuticals, electronics, semiconductor, ceramics, and steel production.
Products Produced from Machined Graphite
Graphite Machined Products ;are found in products such as pillow blocks, brazing fixtures, thrust washers, packing graphite rings, boards, cathodic protection anodes, and degassing graphite tubes. The metallurgical industry uses graphite tubes for fluxing tubes. The chemical industry makes use of these tubes as well, taking advantage of the material’s low resistance to heat by using them in furnaces.

Machined Graphite
Machined Graphite – Ohio Carbon Blank
Other machined graphite products include graphite rods, graphite electrodes, graphite bearings, graphite felt, graphite crucibles, and graphite plates.
Graphite Rods
Graphite rods, which can also be formed from stacking a group of graphite rings on top of one another, can be found in other products such as heaters, carbon heat sources, and fishing poles.
Graphite Electrodes
Graphite electrodes are utilized in the steel production industry as a component of large recycling machines known as electric arc furnaces.
Graphite Bearings
Graphite bearings are used in the pharmaceutical and food industries because of their resistance to chemicals, their high-temperature stability, and their self-lubricating properties.
Graphite Felt
Graphite felt allows for high stability with minimal shrinkage, and is frequently utilized as high-temperature isolators in inert or vacuum atmospheres.
Graphite Crucibles
Graphite crucibles store various materials during blending processes and are highly resistant to heat.
Graphite Plates
Graphite plates are smooth bodies of even thickness, formed from multiple unidirectional layers of graphite.

Graphite Electrode Soldering Iron
graphite electrode ;is nothing more than a sharp graphite rod, taken from a pile, subject to a support conductor of the current, a copper tube, and at a reasonable distance a plastic handle, a PVC tube. The handle should be far enough away so that it does not reach so much heat to soften it. Anyway, it is clear that PVC is the worst plastic that can be used for this but it was there.
This is a sheet metal welder for almost any metal. It does not require the input of material and practically does not admit it unless they are very thin rods. It is not about electric arc welding. What melts the metal is the graphite tip that shortly turns bright white. What is heated by the current is graphite, not metal, Graphite electrode because the first one has a much greater resistance and dissipates most of the power. It is important that the graphite tip is sharp for two reasons:
The finer the point of contact between the material and the tip more resistance to current and more temperature reach. If it is too thick, heat is transmitted easily from the tip to the soldering iron and a large part of it dissipates without reaching the necessary temperature. The soldering iron only works if it concentrates most of the power at the point to be soldered. Everything has to be thought about for that.
The truth is that to have been done in 10 minutes, nothing else came up with the idea, it was pretty good. The way to hold the Graphite electrode was the idea of a friend and is interesting for its simplicity. It involves making two cuts on the edge of the tube longitudinally dividing it into 4 more or less equal parts. Two of them are eliminated and the tube is left with two tabs. Each one is tightened with pliers to give it a round shape and it adapts to the bar and then approaches each other. You are looking for a large brass nut that snaps into place and, without the rod; you turn the nut with force, making a thread in the copper. Then open, put the bar and do the same again and is perfectly subject. This system allows for changing the bar quickly, adjusting its position, and providing good electrical contact.

What Are The Applications Of High Purity Graphite
The use of high purity graphite ;in the field of industrial production has excellent performance. High purity graphite is used in conductive, lubrication, metallurgy, and other industrial production fields. High purity graphite production, from the beginning of the raw materials, should be strictly controlled the content of impurities, choose low ash raw materials, and in the production process prevent the increase of pollutants as far as possible. However, the reduction of contaminants to the degree required is primarily in the graphite chemical sequence. Graphitization occurs at high temperatures, where the oxides of many impurity elements will decompose and evaporate. The higher the graphitization temperature is, the more impurities are discharged, and the higher the purity of the high purity graphite products are produced. The high purity graphite is used to make use of its excellent conductivity, lubrication, high-temperature resistance, etc.

What Is Taffeta Fabric?
Taffeta is a crisp, lightweight fabric that is commonly used to make a variety of types of high-end women's apparel. This plain-woven fabric is smooth to the touch, and it can be made from a variety of different materials. While it's true that taffeta fabric is made by twisting yarn as it is woven, many other fabrics are also made with this method, which means that the starched and shape-retaining qualities of taffeta are more representative of its unique attributes than its name.

How Is Taffeta Fabric Used?
Taffeta is considered to be a luxury fabric, and it is relatively prone to damage. Therefore, it isn't commonly used in everyday clothing; on the contrary, it is more common to see this type of fabric used in big-ticket apparel like wedding dresses and evening wear.
Due to its iconic rustling and lightweight heft, this fabric is commonly used in party attire of all kinds. For instance, it is frequently used to make party costumes, and it also may be used to make costumes for stage plays. Due to its softness, piece-dyed taffeta is sometimes used to make linings for jackets and coats.
Beyond apparel, taffeta fabric is also used to make a number of consumer items. For instance, umbrellas are commonly made with this fabric, and taffeta fabric is also used to make certain forms of insulation. In addition, this substance is sometimes used to make handbags and stuffing in sleeping bags, and during World War II, this fabric was commonly used to make parachutes.

WHAT ARE RECYCLED FABRICS?
Textiles made of natural or synthetic fibers are not just used for clothes but also used in homes, hospitals, workplaces, and vehicles, in form of cleaning materials, such as leisure equipment, protective wear, and so on. If these textiles are sorted, graded, and reused again to make fabrics for different end uses it is called as recycled fabric.
Textiles made of regular polyester fiber are not environment friendly as the production of a fabric involves huge quantities of water, chemicals, and the use of fossil fuels. The raw materials, as well as the byproducts, are toxic, pollute water and air and cause several health issues. Hence companies have found ways to create polyester out of recycled plastic bottles or even recycled polyester fabric.
Similarly, great progress has also been made to recycle other synthetic fiber types like nylon and spandex to make recycled fabrics prevent the fabric from going to waste/landfills.
The use of recycled fabrics has significant importance as it provides both environmental and economic benefits. ;

What are they made from? And what variation do Recycled fabrics comes in?
We consider recycled polyester fabrics as an example to know more about the process and methods used for recycling. ;
The recycled polyester fabric uses PET (polyethylene terephthalate) as raw material and this comes from recycled plastic bottles which go to landfills. Recycled polyester uses 33-53% less energy than regular polyester and it can be continuously recycled. [2] Recycled polyester also doesn’t require huge land to grow a crop or use gallons of water like cotton for its production.
Recycled polyester fabrics can also come from used polyester fabrics where the recycling process starts by cutting the polyester garments into small pieces. The shredded fabric is then granulated and turned into polyester chips. The chips are melted and spun into new filament fibers used to make new polyester fabrics.

Characteristics of the Oxford Fabric
Oxford fabric is very popular due to its characteristics and multipurpose use. It is particularly used for making casual or sporty cotton shirts, pants, and other casual-to-formal garments. ;
The Oxford fabric or cloth was one of four most modern fabrics named after the most popular universities, viz., Oxford, Cambridge, Yale, and Harvard in a Scottish fabric mill in the 19th century. This fabric features a basketweave structure made by weaving multiple yarns together by passing them over one another in vertical and horizontal directions. Thin yarns are woven over a thicker filler yarn. While making colored and patterned Oxford shirts, the threads passing in one direction are dyed, while the others are left in white. This creates a slightly thicker cloth with a fine texture and gives the fabric a unique checkerboard appearance. Though it is a little coarse, it is quite comfortable to wear. The fabric is mainly used for making cotton dress shirts for both casual and formal occasions due to its versatility. Besides that, it also has many other applications.
Initially, Oxford cloth was made with pure cotton, but many of them are now made by incorporating synthetic fibers such as polyester and rayon. It is a fabric that needs less care than most other fabrics. It can easily be put for wash and stays in shape better, compared to most other fabrics. Oxford fabrics are very affordable due to the yarn used for weaving and are comfy too.

  Sucker rod pump classification
Posté par : DFDVX189 - 15-11-2022, - Forum : Présentez-vous... - Réponses (9)

Sucker rod pump classification
Sucker rod pumps include a wide range of methods used to increase oil recovery. Since classifications have varied significantly over the years mainly due to the development of new technologies, the first step in this research is to include a new classification of sucker rod pumps that includes all the new technological developments that fall under this category.
Beam rod pumping
The beam rod pumping unit is the most applied sucker rod method. This method will also be the main focus of this research. It is mainly composed of a surface unit and downhole pump and rods. The surface unit has multiple variations based on size and application. The three main types are the Type A, C, and M beam rods. Type A (Air balanced) uses compressed air to counterbalance the load that comes from the rods. Type A has the benefit of reduced weight and lower installation and transportation costs. Type M (Mark II) lowers the torque and power requirements throughout the pumping cycle. Type C is the conventional beam rod pump.
Coiled tubing sucker rod
The use of coiled tubing as sucker rods is mainly performed in small diameter holes. This technology was first applied in Argentina and was then used in the USA and Canada. It has the advantage of reducing cost since the coiled tubing acts as both the production string and the sucker rod. This method also reduces the time during well intervention jobs and allows the conduction of various operations in live wells without the need for kill fluid. An example of a coiled tubing sucker rod is presented in Fig. 3. Some of the key design parameters in this type of sucker rod pump are the coiled tubing material, fatigue failure analysis, corrosion resistance, completion design, non-return valve (one-way valve), gas separation, and surface facilities ;
Hydraulically actuated sucker rods
Hydraulically actuated sucker rods have been present since the 1940s. They contain a hydraulic cylinder at the surface used to impart a reciprocating motion on the polished rod and the rod string and the downhole assembly which is almost identical to the conventional beam unit.

Valve Bonnet
A valve bonnet acts as a cover on the valve body. It is commonly semi-permanently screwed into the valve body or bolted onto it. During the manufacture of the valve, the internal parts are put into the body and then the bonnet is attached to hold everything together inside. To access internal parts of a valve, a user would take off the bonnet, usually for maintenance. Many valves do not have bonnets; for example, plug valves usually do not have bonnets. Many ball valves do not have bonnets since the valve body is put together in a different style, such as being screwed together at the middle of the valve body.
An assembly includes the part through which a valve plug stem moves and a means for sealing against leakage along the stem. It usually provides a means for mounting the actuator. Sealing against leakage may be accomplished by packing or a bellows. A bonnet assembly may include a packing lubricator assembly with or without isolating valve. Radiation fins or an extension bonnet may be used to maintain a temperature differential between the valve body and sealing means.

DOWNHOLE MOTORS
Asahi supplies Down Hole Motors commonly used for directional drilling in coal and hard rock mining as well as civil construction. They are also used as an alternative to conventional deflection style drilling where wedges are used.
The Downhole Motor is driven via fluid pumped into the motor, which then turns it into a mechanical rotary motion through the form of a rotor. This rotary motion is applied to a Drill Bit (either PCD or impregnated diamond) and attached to the end of the motor to cut into the formation being drilled.
The direction of the motor can be determined by a “bent sub”. These subs can be fitted to the DHM to adjust the “angle” of the motor and how fast it can turn within the hole.

IMPORTANCE OF CHOOSING THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT FOR OIL AND GAS PRODUCTION
Pieces of both static and rotating oil production equipment are commonly used across every corner of the entire hydrocarbons industry, regardless of whether you are considering upstream, midstream, or downstream. Static equipment covers a larger percentage of the current global market, consisting of everything from valves and heat exchangers to furnaces and boilers. Rotating equipment covers a smaller percentage of the current global market, consisting of everything from compressors and turbines to pumps.
During both oil and gas production, the use of static and rotating equipment has to be utilized at every single step. Here are some of the most important pieces of oil production equipment that you need to consider.
VALVES
Valves are a vital piece of equipment when it comes to the production of oil and gas. They are generally used to control the flow of either substance, but they are also used for a variety of other jobs. You can find them in both pipelines and refineries, as well as in a number of other places.
BOILERS
During oil and gas production, boilers are usually used to generate a large amount of steam. This steam can then be used for a variety of different purposes. These purposes include everything from steam stripping and steam distillation, to process heating and vacuum distillation.
This means that a boiler is a very fundamental part of any refinery, as it acts as a closed vessel to convert all of the water that lies within it into steam, sterilizing the product that lies waiting inside by reaching appropriate processing temperatures that would otherwise be very difficult to reach.
FURNACES
When looking into a suitable furnace for use in the oil and gas industry, you will usually come across one of two different options. This is because most companies use either:
Cracking furnaces (or)
Reforming furnaces
Some companies believe that it is best to own both. These furnaces can be used across the board, in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries.
Most of the time, furnaces are used to enable the combustion of either solid materials, liquid materials, or gaseous fuels to generate a source of heat.
HEAT EXCHANGERS
If you are planning to ensure that the refining process of your venture into the oil and gas industries works well, then you need to ensure that you have a high-quality heat exchanger. They are often used within cracking units during the process of separating oil from water. They are also commonly used in the liquefaction process that can be found in natural gas production sectors.

Pumping Unit
The pumping unit is the mechanism that converts the rotary motion of the prime mover into the reciprocating vertical movement required at the polished rod. Most types of pumping units utilize a walking beam, inherited from the days of the cable-tool drilling rigs. Beam-type sucker rod pumping units are basically a four-bar mechanical linkage, the main elements of which are:
1. The crank arm, which rotates with the slow-speed shaft of the gear reducer,
2. The pitman, which connects the crank arm to the walking beam,
3. The portion of the walking beam from the equalizer bearing to the center bearing, and
4. The fixed distance between the saddle bearing and the crankshaft.
The operation of the above linkage ensures that the rotary motion input to the system by the prime mover is converted into a vertical reciprocating movement, output at the horsehead. The sucker rods, attached to the horsehead, follow this movement and drive the bottom hole pump. Although there are different arrangements of pumping units available, all employ the same basic component parts detailed above.
Since the vast majority of pumping units used worldwide belong to the beam-type class, the following sections will primarily deal with the structural and operational features of several versions of these units. The ratings and other technical specifications of beam-pumping units are covered by the American Petroleum Institute in its publications. Non-API pumping units are also available and are mainly used for long-stroke sucker-rod pumping or for special conditions.

  How do temperature sensors work?
Posté par : DFDVX189 - 15-11-2022, - Forum : Présentez-vous... - Pas de réponse

How do temperature sensors work?
How do temperature sensors work? They are devises to measure temperature readings through electrical signals. The Medical Temperature Sensor is made up of two metals, which generate electrical voltage or resistance once it notices a change in temperature. The temperature sensor plays a critical role in maintaining a specific temperature within any equipment used to make anything from medicine to beer. To produce these types of content, the accuracy and responsiveness of the temperature and temperature control are critical to ensuring the end product is perfect. Temperature is the most common physical measurement type in industrial applications. Accurate measurements are vital in ensuring the success of these processes. There are many applications that are not-so-obvious, which use temperature sensors. Melting chocolate, using a blast furnace, controlling a hot air balloon, freezing substances in a lab, running a motor vehicle, and firing a kiln.

The below contact temperature sensors:
A thermometer is generally what we think of when we think of temperature – particularly the mercury-filled glass tube. However, there are several types of thermometers available: Glass Thermometer: as above mercury/ ethanol glass tube. Ethanol is now the main liquid used in these thermometers.
Bi-Metal Thermometer: this thermometer type consists of a connected gauge and stem. The tip of the sensor has a spring that is attached to a rod, leading up to the gauge needle. The spring sits inside the stems sensing the end. When heat is applied to the sensing coil, movement in the coil is created which causes the needle in the gauge to move – thus displaying the temperature.
Gas-filled & Liquid Thermometer: These thermometers are similar in terms of how they work. There is a bulb either filled with gas or liquid. This is situated inside the sensing end of the probe. When heated, the gas expands/liquid heats up which signals the attached rod to move the needle to the temperature being measured.
Digital Thermometer: A digital thermometer uses a probe such as a thermocouple or a resistance temperature detector (RTD). The temperature is measured using the probe (sensing end) and displayed as a digital reading.

The below is a Non-contact temperature sensor
Infrared sensors determine temperatures from a distance, by measuring the thermal radiation emitted by an object or heat source. The applications for these are often in high temperatures or hazardous environments where you need to maintain a safe distance away from a particular body. ; Thermal imaging and infrared sensors are the most common type of non-contact temperature sensors, and are used in the following circumstances: Fever detection or when the target object is moving (such as on a conveyor belt or within moving machinery), if it’s a great distance away if there’s a dangerous surrounding environment (such as high voltages) or at extremely high temperatures where a contact sensor would not function appropriately.

What is a Thermistor and how does it work?
Thermistors are a type of semiconductor, meaning they have greater resistance than conducting materials, but lower resistance than insulating materials. The relationship between a thermistor’s temperature and its resistance is highly dependent upon the materials from which it’s composed. The manufacturer typically determines this property with a high degree of accuracy, as this is the primary characteristic of interest to thermistor buyers. ;
Thermistors are made up of metallic oxides, binders and stabilizers, pressed into wafers and then cut to chip size, left in disc form, or made into another shape. The precise ratio of the composite materials governs their resistance/temperature “curve.” ;
Thermistors are available in two types: those with Negative Temperature Coefficients (NTC thermistors) and those with Positive Temperature Coefficients (PTC thermistors). NTC thermistors’ resistance decreases as their temperature increases, while PTC thermistors’ resistance increases as their temperature increases. Only NTC thermistors are commonly used in temperature measurement. ;
Thermistors are composed of materials with known resistance. As the temperature increases, an NTC thermistor’s resistance will increase in a non-linear fashion, following a particular “curve.” The shape of this resistance vs. temperature curve is determined by the properties of the materials that make up the thermistor. ;
Thermistors are often selected for applications where ruggedness, reliability, and stability are important. They’re well suited for use in environments with extreme conditions, or where electronic noise is present. They’re available in a variety of shapes: the ideal shape for a particular application depends on whether the thermistor will be surface-mounted or embedded in a system, and on the type of material being measured. ;

Using Epoxy to Protect NTC Thermistors
An Epoxy Bead NTC Thermistor temperature sensor appears as a tear-drop-shaped bead with two radial wire leads. Very often these types of NTC thermistor temperature sensors are used with applications in proximity to moisture. Some of these applications include medical devices that measure the airflow and air temperature. Epoxy bead thermistors are also frequently used in automotive applications to monitor and control air conditioning and seat warming for passenger cabins.
It is critical that NTC thermistors are protected from direct exposure to fluids, such as water or oil. To accomplish this, thermally conductive epoxy is used as an encapsulant, called “potting,” to seal the NTC thermistor temperature sensors in a stainless steel housing. This epoxy not only protects the NTC sensor from moisture but enables good thermal conduction from the medium being measured to the thermistor sensor. The thermally conductive epoxy provides operating effectiveness without degradation.

Thin Film NTC Thermistor
NTC thermistorThermal Component Technologies has released a new Thin Film NTC Thermistor. The Thin Film Type NTC Thermistor is frequently used for applications where space is a concern and the standard design is not thin enough. A typical thickness of 0.55mm offers the solution engineers have been looking for. They are an ideal choice for precise temperature measurement between flat surfaces where quick time response is critical. The thermistor chip is loaded between 2 conductors and then sandwiched with polyimide insulation. This provides excellent moisture resistance, along with flexibility. All the usual benefits of thermistors where sensitivity to temperature change is paramount.

Applications Thin Flim NTC Thermistor
where this type will suit is in the medical industry such as blood bag temperature monitoring for refrigerated storage. Small battery packs will also demand this type where space is particularly limited and a quick response is needed to prevent heating during charging cycles. The surface temperature of pipes can also be monitored using thin-film technology.

GLASS TYPE B - GLASS-COATED BEAD
Thermometrics Type B Glass Bead NTC Thermistors consist of glass-coated bead thermistors on fine diameter platinum alloy lead wires. The special thin glass coatings provide a hermetic seal making these thermistors unaffected by severe environmental exposures. They are suitable for most low-cost temperature measurement, control, and compensation, such as self-heated applications, including liquid level sensing and gas flow measurement.
Features
Fast thermal response times
Special thin glass coating provides a hermetic seal
Unaffected by severe environmental exposures, including nuclear radiation
The intermittent operation to 600°C

Temperature Sensor Types

Posté par : DFDVX189 - 15-11-2022, - Forum : Présentez-vous... - Réponses (6)

Where can PVC panels be used?
There are a variety of places in which PVC panels can be installed around the home. One of the most popular is the bathroom, where the panels can be installed on the ceiling or floor. Bathroom PVC panels can also be used to create a wet room.
Along with their popular use in bathrooms, PVC panels can also be used on kitchen walls. Their easy-to-clean nature means that any spillages can be wiped and removed instantly without leaving a permanent mark.

The Benefits of PVC Walls
When it comes to our homes, many people try to keep up-to-date with current interior design trends whilst ensuring that they’re practical and visually attractive.
PVC wall panels are becoming increasingly popular for this reason. Simply put, these panels, made of PVC material, can come in a variety of patterns and designs and are becoming preferential over other wall alternatives such as tiles or paint.

The advantages of PVC walls
PVC panels provide homeowners with many benefits, including:
Durability
Due to its material, this type of wall panel is easy to clean. Any marks or stains on the panel can be removed instantly with a damp cloth and some dish soap, making them last much longer than other bathroom walling solutions.
PVC panels are also much more hygienic than other wall types. This is because once they have been installed in your bathroom or kitchen, the panels are mildew-resistant and prevent bacteria from growing.
Because PVC panels are such low maintenance, they’re a fantastic alternative for busy homeowners, who are looking to reduce the time they spend cleaning traditional tiled walls.
Waterproof and fire-resistant
In a bathroom or busy kitchen environment, it’s essential that the walls you have installed are waterproof and won’t be damaged by condensation or splashes of water.
As is often the case with painted walls, a humid environment can cause paint to break down and peel off the wall. However, PVC panels are designed to be completely water-resistant, meaning that they’re safe to use in a wet room
As well as being waterproof, these panels are also fire-resistant, so are safe to install in your home. You can also purchase internal fire-resistant cladding panels for your bathroom ceiling – and these are available in a variety of effects.
Easy installation
Unlike tiles, the traditional wall of choice for older properties, PVC panels are extremely easy to install. So much so that if you have a bit of DIY knowledge, you could even install them yourself!
This easy installation comes as a result of the panels covering a much larger surface area than tiles. They don’t require grout to be used, making them a fantastic alternative to tiled bathroom walls.

What Are the Pros & Cons of PVC Ceiling Panels?
PVC (polyvinyl chloride) ceiling panels are being widely used as a cladding material for the ceilings of residential and commercial buildings. PVC is a strong lightweight plastic material that is factory-manufactured into ceiling panels of various designs, colors, sizes, and lengths; each panel has a hollow core and a smooth, shiny surface. Since these panels are waterproof, they work as the best substitute for the conventional mineral fiber ceilings like POP and gypsum in moisture-laden areas like balconies, bathrooms, and basements. ;
Pro: Highly durable
PVC ceiling panels are sturdy and very durable. They can last for years without warping or bending. Unlike gypsum and POP, PVC ceiling panels are not brittle and are less likely to get damaged while handling.
Pro: Affordable
They are an affordable alternative to conventional POP or gypsum ceiling panels.
Pro: Clean installation
PVC ceiling panel installation is easy, as the panels can be cut and trimmed without difficulty. Also, they do not create a dusty environment during installation.
PVC wall cladding and ceiling panels
Pro: Light in weight
PVC ceiling panels are one of the lightest materials that are used for the ceiling. They are very easy to transport, handle and install at site.
Pro: Easy to maintain
The best part about these panels is that they are easy to maintain and do not require any paint, varnish, or special coating for routine maintenance. PVC ceiling panels just need a quick wipe with a damp cloth or household cleaners from time to time to keep them looking like new.
Pro: Resistant to dampness
These ceiling panels are waterproof and do not absorb water, hence they discourage dampness and do not support mold or mildew growth.
Note that POP and gypsum, on the other hand, have the tendency to absorb moisture, because of which they turn yellow or get ugly yellow stains. They are not recommended for damp areas.
Con: Has a plastic look
Interior and exterior PVC ceiling panels lend a plastic look to the place they are used in. Also, the joint lines are visible between each panel.
Cuppett Kilpatrick Architects
Con: Not resistant to heat
Since the PVC ceiling panels are made of plastic, they may get damaged when subjected to heat. Hence, avoid using heat-emitting bulbs for any ceiling-mounted lights and only go for energy-efficient LED lights.
Con: PVC might release toxic gases
Chlorine is used in the manufacture of PVC materials; some traces of the toxic chlorine gas might be released into the air over a period. Additionally, PVC is extremely toxic when burnt, so don’t use PVC ceiling panels in areas, such as kitchens.

The benefits of WPC wall panel
Wood-plastic composite wall panels are an increasingly popular way to decorate buildings. As an excellent alternative to traditional wood wall panels, composite wall panels not only have the advantages of wood wall panels but also many benefits of WPC panels. It is an attractive and cost-effective way to decorate.
If you are well-informed and have refreshed your knowledge of wood wall panels, you may also be aware of other composite products such as WPC ceilings, PVC wall panels, ceilings, etc.
Although some are not specialized products, they can also be used for wall cladding. For example, it’s a WPC timber tube or a PVC timber tube for a wall panel partition.

Improve insulation performance
Excellent insulating properties are one of the main reasons why many people choose wood wall panels. Wood is a natural insulator that effectively prevents heat from escaping and blocks cold from entering the house.

Good sound insulation
Wooden wall panels have excellent sound insulation. And WPC wall panel can be designed with a special sound-absorbing structure for sound insulation. Therefore the WPC wall panel has a stronger sound insulation effect than wood wall panels. This makes the WPC wall panel the best choice for people seeking privacy and peace of mind.

Excellent Durability
With traditional wood wall panels, you need regular maintenance, no more than two or three years to clean, paint and stain. To ensure that it will last longer. This means that you still need to spend a lot of time and money after the installation of wood wall panels.
The WPC wall panel, on the other hand, has a long life span, up to 30 years. Due to the nature of the composite material, it is quite durable and has good water and mold resistance. It is easy to clean and does not require you to maintain it often, just scrub it with soap and water every once in a while.

Eco-Friendly
Wood-plastic composite wall panels are made from a blend of recyclable plastic and wood fiber. The use of recyclable plastic can reduce plastic pollution on the earth and help to protect the environment. The use so far can increase the usage of trees, which reduces the excessive deforestation of forest resources and also helps to protect the natural environmental protection.
Therefore WPC wall panels are environmentally friendly, especially compared with other options. The promotion of WPC wall panels helps to better protect the environment we live in.

Advantages of UV Coated Boards
Now, why are they popular? Because of the following reasons:
Versatile in nature: These UV boards give you enormous options for the application. It can be used for sliding doors, cupboards, shutters for kitchen and bathroom cabinets, as a television displayed wall unit, as a storage cabinet, or for other furnishing purposes. And most importantly, they are very easy to work with.
A glossy finish: Action TESA’s UV-coated boards consist of pre-laminated MDF boards on which a 9 layer of UV lacquer is applied, thus giving it a lustrous appearance. Such a glossy finish not only makes the colors of the products much more vibrant but also enables the house décor to appear much more gorgeous.
Scratch-resistant: The UV-coated panels are made for heavy-duty and thus are highly resistant to scratches or abrupt wear and tear. They are also characterized by low haze and weather change durability.

  The Benefits of Our Balance Packs
Posté par : DFDVX189 - 15-11-2022, - Forum : Présentez-vous... - Pas de réponse

The Benefits of Our Balance Packs
Incredible Ergonomic Value
Consider this: Your spine is not a straight line, it curves inward as it approaches your waistline, yet a traditional hiking bag alone distributes weight straight down as if your spine did not curve. By offsetting that weight with a counterweight on the lower front portion of your body, you bring the weight distribution into alignment with your body’s natural shape. If you were to carry the same load in your pack before adding our Body Packs to your front, effectively carrying additional weight in them, you’ll definitely feel as though you carried less after a few hours, not more. By aligning the load with your body’s desired shape, it will feel as though you’re carrying much, much less than you are.
They’re Handy, Too
The term “handy” was made to refer to things that are conveniently close at hand; what could be more close at hand than packs that you can actually rest your hands upon? Even the best hiking bags in the world can’t give you access to the things you’ll need while you’re blazing the trail. By now, you’re probably used to stopping to get anything you need out of your pack, replacing it, re-hoisting your pack, and then moving on; maybe you have a buddy do the pack digging for you, but neither case allows you to continue moving as you do so. With our Balance Packs, accessing the things you need to keep “handy” will be easier than ever before. Plus, since you’ll receive the ergonomic benefits mentioned above, you won’t want to stop and dig through your pack nearly as often anyway!

ADVANTAGES OF GUN BAGS
Gun bags have come a long way over the years and now feature some of the most innovative and unique materials we will ever utilize in our lives.
;• Concealed: The first thing anyone thinks about when it comes to firearm ownership is how to properly conceal them. This isn’t just about hiding it based on the parameters of the law, it’s about making sure other people are not aware that you have it. These gun bags are great because they are smaller than ever so you can fit the firearm in a variety of places you couldn’t before, and they also do not allow for easy access so that you know your firearm is secure if anyone does find it. ;
;• Dry: One of the biggest challenges to owning a firearm if you plan on using it for protection or sport in the wilderness is keeping it dry. Moisture is one of the biggest reasons firearms deteriorate over time and keeping them clean and dry is very challenging. Thankfully, many of these bags are insulated to do just that and ensure that there is minimum moisture while it’s stored away. This can help not only maintain a good working condition but allow you to keep the gun for years. ;
;• Clean: While placing a firearm under the seat of your car or in the glovebox may seem like a smart and convenient way to store them, it actually can lead to dust and other debris getting into the weapon and keeping it from functioning properly. Along with that, you have to think about the bumps it would be taking in a confined space while in the vehicle. ;
;• Store Accessories: Every firearm owner knows that they also need to keep tools for cleaning and repairing their weapon as well as bullets with the firearm. Rather than trying to fit an oversized box somewhere in your vehicle or home, you are able to store all these items in a small bag that can keep everything organized and ready to use when you need it. ;
;• Store Electronics: One of the biggest advantages to these products actually has nothing to do with firearms. These bags are designed to protect a gun from moisture, getting scratched, getting hit with debris, and even getting lost or stolen. The same needs come with owning electronics like cell phones, tablets, smartwatches, and car keys. If you are going to the gym or perhaps hunting and you need to keep your electronics safe, this is the perfect option. ;

How Do Hydration Backpacks Work (Plus Pros & Cons)
For the sake of this article, we will refer to hiking hydration bags. They work as a general hiking backpack, except that they have a hydration system.
A rucksack with a hydration system allows you to drink water effortlessly without taking off your pack. Often, you don’t even have to use your hands. The water is stored in a water bladder stowed in a hydration sleeve inside the pack. You access the fluid via a hose that goes from the reservoir through holes on the pack to reach the exterior so that the tube hangs over either shoulder.
The slits in the pack are also called tube portals or access points. You can find backpacks with a single hole for the tube and packs with dual holes. The latter gives you more flexibility allowing you to hang the hose on the left or on the right shoulder.
The tube (hose) ends with a mouthpiece, also known as a bite valve. Some are designed with a switch that prevents water from accidentally slipping out. To further stabilize the drink tube, some models include clips on the shoulder straps with which you can position the hose for easier access.
For effortless refilling of the water bladder, many hydration packs have a button on the reservoir that makes disconnecting the drink tube quick and easy, with a single press. In that way, you don’t have to remove the hose from the slits. You just refill the reservoir, reconnect it to the tube, and you’re ready to go.
Another feature worth mentioning is that the water bladders have a large mouth opening – up to 5-7 cm. This is especially handy when you need to clean the reservoir or you need to cool the water by putting ice cubes into the bladder.

Tennis Bag
The tennis bag is an essential piece of tennis equipment that has a variety of benefits when it comes to storing gear. There are a few different types of tennis bags designed to meet various players' needs, with each variation offering different advantages and disadvantages.

  5 Uses of Bra - The Advantages of Wearing Bras
Posté par : DFDVX189 - 15-11-2022, - Forum : Présentez-vous... - Réponses (6)

5 Uses of Bra - The Advantages of Wearing Bras
Bras are an essential part of every women’s wardrobe. But, have you wondered what the uses of a bra are? ;
There never goes a day for women without wearing a bra. However, have you ever wondered what the use of a bra is? Why should women wear a bra? Well, the first bra came into the picture in 1914. And gradually, bras became an essential part of women’s wardrobes. However, even today, most women find it refreshing and comfortable to take off their bar after a long tiring day. But did you know that there are various uses of bra, which benefit us in many ways? Unhooking and throwing your bra across the bed after a hectic day feels like bliss. But here are the advantages of wearing a bra.
1. Prevent Sagging
Women’s breasts are made of fats and glands. Even though the ligaments provide the necessary support, breasts eventually sag in almost every woman. And to avoid this, girls should wear a bra. Wearing a bra lifts the breasts and helps prevent sagging up to some extent.
2. Offer Support
As against popular belief, the primary use of a women's bra is not simply enhancing the appearance of your breasts. A good bra should offer excellent support to your breasts and enhance your comfort. UNIQLO’s high-quality collection of bras is specially designed to provide incredible support to breasts as well as shoulders. This also helps improve your posture, especially if you have heavy breasts.
3. High Comfort
It’s during sleep that wearing a bra can make women most uncomfortable. However, going braless for a whole day can also cause discomfort to you. The pulls and bounces of breasts during the day’s activity can lead to pain. That is why wearing a bra is important. UNIQLO’s wide range of wireless bras is smartly designed to provide you with the perfect fit with lightweight. This means ultra comfort all day long!
4. Better Shape
Many women today are not confident about their breasts - their size, gap, and shape. Due to this reason, some women opt for other cosmetic treatments as well, which are unnecessary in most cases. But did you know wearing a good quality bra can also do the trick? Among many uses of a bra helping make peace with the flaws is one. Wearing the right type of bra can help you hold your breast in better shape. So you can be more confident in your body.
5. Increased Confidence
What you wear under your beautiful dress can play a significant role in how you feel about yourself and carry yourself. You should feel confident to carry yourself on every occasion. A well-fitted and comfortable bra can enhance your posture, and body language and subsequently boost confidence.

Women's Zipper Sports Bra
If you have boobs, you likely know the struggle of finding the perfect workout bra. And, the only thing worse than wrestling a clingy, compressive contraption over your body before a workout is trying to wrench it off after when it’s all sticky and sweaty. If you’ve ever struggled while getting in and out of your boob jail or if you’re someone with a limited range of motion, then it may be time to invest in some zip-front sports bras. As well as preventing chafing, bouncing, adjusting, and sliding, the women's zipper sports bra makes it a cinch to get changed pre-and post-workout—but not all front-zip bras are created equal.
Just like with any bra, workout bras with zippers come with some potential issues and annoyances. Because most front-zip sports bras are made with extra padding and higher necklines, they can cause even more irritation and boob sweat, which is a big nope. You may also find that some have finicky zippers that slide down mid-workout or those that are so tight and constrictive that you feel like you’re strapped into a corset. But when it comes to coverage and comfort, these bbs can’t be beaten.

Briefs
Because it’s usually unseen, your underwear should feel invisible — should being the operative word here, as anyone who’s dealt with a too-tight thong, a wedgie, or visible panty line can attest to. If the contents of your undies drawer don’t quite make the cut, this is a good place to start looking for upgrades. ;
What we’re looking for
Sizing: The intimates industry has a reputation of being exclusionary — though that’s slowly changing. Size inclusion was a big sticking point for us, and so we tried to highlight undergarments offered in a wider range of sizes.
Cut: Whereas men’s underwear comes down to three main cuts (boxers, briefs, and boxer briefs), it’s the Wild West out there for women. There’s the sisterhood of briefs, bikinis, and thongs from which others descend, such as the boyshort, hipster, and cheeky. Then there are the capitalized cuts, like the French cut that harks back to the Baywatch days of one-pieces, and the G-string, which is the next best thing to nothing at all. Rise is another consideration — maybe you prefer a high-rise (à la “My Calvins” ), low-rise, or something in the middle.
Material: How a pair feels will depend on what it’s made from. Cotton is a favorite for its breathability. Modal is an alternative often seen in sustainable options since it’s biodegradable. For its airiness, mesh (usually manufactured from nylon) works as another popular textile. To make a panty more moldable to the body, some stretch (either elastane or spandex) will generally make an appearance on tags. Since underwear is such a personal choice, there’s really no right answer to which material is best — but to help you, we’ve detailed the materials used in every recommendation.
Price: Even though almost all of us would consider underwear an essential, it isn’t always priced that way. Our focus, therefore, was on the undies that truly feel well worth it. ;

Phosphoric acid tributyl ester
Phosphoric acid tributyl ester, also known as tributyl phosphate or TBP, is an industrial chemical.
TBP is used mainly in industrial settings in aviation hydraulic fluids as a flame retardant, as an extraction solvent for rare earth metals from ores, in the manufacture of uranium trioxide, as a defoaming agent, as a plasticizer and in hydraulic fluid and coatings. It is also found in some paints and brake fluids.
TBP is not manufactured in Canada, but is imported into Canada.
Prior to the assessment, TBP was identified as a potential concern to human health based on its classification by international organizations as a substance which was found to cause cancer in laboratory animals, and based on a moderate potential for exposure to Canadians.
TBP may be found in indoor air and drinking water in Canada.
Canadians may be exposed to TBP during use of certain consumer products containing TBP such as paints and brake fluid.
Exposure of the general population in Canada to TBP is expected to be low.
The Government of Canada has conducted a science-based evaluation of TBP, called a screening assessment.
The Government of Canada has concluded that TBP is not harmful to human health at current levels of exposure.
Based on the conclusion of the final screening assessment, no further action will be taken on TBP.
The final screening assessment report was published on August 22, 2009.
Because Canadians' exposure to TBP is expected to be low, the Government of Canada is not currently recommending specific actions by Canadians to reduce their exposure.
As a general precaution, Canadians are reminded to carefully follow safety warnings and directions when using products containing TBP.
Tributyl phosphate
TBP is a solvent and plasticizer for cellulose esters such as nitrocellulose and cellulose acetate. It forms stable hydrophobic complexes with some metals; these complexes are soluble in organic solvents as well as supercritical CO2. The major uses of TBP in industry are as a component of aircraft hydraulic fluid, brake fluid, and as a solvent for extraction and purification of rare-earth metals from their ores.
TBP finds its use as a solvent in inks, synthetic resins, gums, adhesives (namely for veneer plywood), and herbicide and fungicide concentrates.
As it has no odour, it is used as an anti-foaming agent in detergent solutions, and in various emulsions, paints, and adhesives. It is also found as a de-foamer in ethylene glycol-borax antifreeze solutions.[citation needed] In oil-based lubricants addition of TBP increases the oil film strength. It is used also in mercerizing liquids, where it improves their wetting properties. It can be used as a heat-exchange medium.TBP is used in some consumer products such as herbicides and water-thinned paints and tinting bases.
Nuclear chemistry[edit]
A 15–40% (usually about 30%) solution of tributyl phosphate in kerosene or dodecane is used in the liquid–liquid extraction (solvent extraction) of uranium, plutonium, and thorium from spent uranium nuclear fuel rods dissolved in nitric acid, as part of a nuclear reprocessing process known as PUREX.
The shipment of 20 tons of tributyl phosphate to North Korea from China in 2002, coinciding with the resumption of activity at Yongbyon Nuclear Scientific Research Center, was seen by the United States and the International Atomic Energy Agency as cause for concern; that amount was considered sufficient to extract enough material for perhaps three to five potential nuclear weapons.
Tributyl phosphate Chemical Properties,Uses,Production
Tributyl phosphate (TBP) is an organophosphorus compound widely used as a solvent in nuclear fuel reprocessing for the extraction of uranium and plutonium from other radionuclides.
The major uses of tributyl phosphate (TBP) in industry are as a flame retardant component of aircraft hydraulic fluid and as a solvent for rare earth extraction and purification. Minor uses of TBP include use as a defoamer additive in cement casings for oil wells, as an anti-air entrainment additive for coatings and floor finishes, as a solvent in nuclear fuel processing, and as a carrier for fluorescent dyes.
The microbial degradation of tributyl phosphate was carried out using Klebsiella pneumoniae S3 isolated from the soil. The solubilization behavior of TBP in aqueous solutions of L64-Pluronics was studied using light and small angle neutron scattering (SANS).

UsesTributyl phosphate (TBP) is a trialkyl phosphate that is the tributyl ester of phosphoric acid. TBP is a toxic organophosphorous compound widely used in many industrial applications, including significant usage in nuclear processing. TBP is a solvent and plasticizer for cellulose esters such as nitrocellulose and cellulose acetate. The major uses of TBP in industry are as a component of aircraft hydraulic fluid and as a solvent for extraction and purification of rare earth metals from their ores, such as uranium and plutonium. TBP is used also in mercerizing liquids, where it improves their wetting properties. TBP is also used as a heat exchange medium. TBP is used in some consumer products such as herbicides and water thinned paints and tinting bases.Preparation
Tributyl phosphate is manufactured by reaction of phosphoryl chloride with n-butanol.
A 1-liter four-necked flask is fitted with an efficient condenser, an air-tight stirrer, a short-stemmed dropping funnel and a thermometer. Calcium chloride tubes are attached to the top of dropping funnel and the reflux condenser. 137 ml (111 g) of dry n-butyl alcohol, 132.5 ml (130 g) of dry pyridine and 140 ml of dry benzene are placed in the flask, which is stirred and cooled in an ice-salt mixture until the temperature falls to – 5° C. 40.5 ml (76.5 g) of freshly redistilled (b.p. 106-107° C) phosphorus oxychloride are dropwise added from the funnel at such a rate that the temperature does not rise above 10° C. When all phosphorus oxychloride has been added the reaction mixture is gently refluxed for 2 hours and cooled to room temperature. 250 ml of water are added in order to dissolve the pyridine hydrochloride, the benzene layer is separated, washed several times with water until the washings are neutral, and dried over anhydrous sodium or magnesium sulfate. The benzene is removed by evaporation and crude tributyl phosphate is purified by distillation in a vacuum. The fraction boiling at 160-162°/15 mm or 138-140°/6 mm is collected yielding 95 g of pure tributyl phosphate.

Potential Exposure
The industrial application of this chemical is responsible for occupational exposure and environmental pollution. Exposure to TBP can be from ingestion, inhalation, or skin or eye contact. This exposure will most often happen from occupational use of hydraulic fluid. If TBP is released to the environment, it will bind tightly to dust particles in the air. Unbound TBP will break down in air. It will move slowly through soil because it will bind with soil particles. It may volatilize slowly from moist soil and water surfaces. It may build up in aquatic organisms. It will be broken down in water by microbes.
Description
On decomposition, TBP releases COx, toxic fumes of phosphoric acid, phosphorus oxides, and/or phosphine. TBP is incompatible with strong oxidising agents and alkalis. The major uses of TBP in industry are as a component of aircraft hydraulic fluid and as a solvent for rare earth extraction and purification. Minor uses of TBP include use as a defoamer additive in cement casings for oil wells, an anti-air entrainment additive for coatings and floor finishes, as well as a carrier for fluorescent dyes. The major uses of TBP comprise over 80% of the volume produced.
